A review of Mid Craigie Primary School by Joan Jackson written on Friday 6th of April 2012
My fondest memory of this school is one day while playing in the school yard I looked up and saw my father watching me. This was so surprising that I ran over to him and he picked me up over the railing and gave me a big hug and a halfpenny put me down and told me to run to Ina's store where I bought some candy. As I came out he was signalling me to run as the school bell was ringing and the children were lining up to march in. He lifted me up and I ran to my line but never took my eyes of him until I was inside. I remember the red and green big round counters we used for arithmetic and playing all kinds of games in the playground. This was at the beginning of the war and I was only there until they decided to put all the Linlathen and Mid Craigie kids in St Michaels School which housed both religions. We always called Pitarlie School "The Huttie". I am now 77 years old but still remember those little wooden huts hence the nickname..
