A review of Park Place Primary School by Ken Fraser written on Friday 27th of July 2018
I attended park Place Primary School (irregularly) between 1949 and 1953. The main emotion I remember is fear. We were frightened of the teachers who beat us and imbued us with a sense of fear. I remember a lovely teacher called Miss Robertson and another called Miss Waddell but there were others (whose names I will not mention) but who I remember with a sense of fear and terror and whose influence cast a blight over my later ability to learn.
I wonder who else can recall the awful feeling which permeated our early learning experiences and I hope the other children I learned with were able to put aside the nastiness of the teachers and were able to become the person they wanted to be.
